Speculation Arises Over Palmeiro's "Unintentional" Home Runs

Rafael Palmeiro insists that he "never intentionally used steroids. Never. Ever. Period." Said Government Reform Committee chairman spokesman Rob White: "If true [that Palmeiro took steroids], this is disheartening news for those of us who believed Mr. Palmeiro was a key ally in our effort to rid sports of performance enhancing drugs."

Based on the testimony of Palmeiro and many others, it seems MLB has a bigger problem on its hands: ridding the sport of unintentional use of performance enhancing drugs. At least in the NFL, players know they're taking them; something can be done if they want. But who's slipping these baseball players the juice without their approval? Envious minor leaguers? Prankster bat boys? Steroid gnomes? If Congress doesn't get an investigation going on this alarming development soon, we might end up getting to the bottom of this.
